Family Law

Our philosophy has always been that it is better to settle family disputes amicably than to exacerbate them in court. It's far easier on the children and generally leaves considerably more money for everyone. Accordingly, we offer Family Law Mediation and "collaborative family law" solutions. We have worked with local lawyers, accountants and other advisors to establish the Northwest Collaborative Law Group.

In Family Law Mediation we guide families through the decisions you need to make when your relationship ends. This permits you to keep control over the costs and the ultimate outcome. For more information, please follow this link:

In collaborative family law, you and your spouse/partner are each represented by your own lawyer but, rather than going to court, you agree to work together to find solutions that work for both of you. Collaborative Family Law

We still practise conventional family law as well. We recognize that it takes two to settle so we are always prepared for court. Below is a brief summary of the services we provide:

  1. devising tax-efficient strategies for dividing assets
  2. preparing separation agreements
  3. calculating child and spousal support entitlements
  4. custody and access applications
  5. trials
  6. obtaining divorces

We offer flat-rate options for family law consultations, uncontested divorces, cohabitation/pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and adoptions. Contact us to find out if your situation fits into a flat-fee structure.
